Endoscopic surgery is minimally invasive surgery that allows for the visualisation of and intervention on the luminal surface of the urinary tract. What this practically involves is the insertion of a camera through the urethra (the opening that urine passes from). Interventions such as biopsies, resection of growths inside the bladder, resection of prostate tissue and laser of kidney and ureteric stones can all be achieved without the need for any incisions. This means that many of these procedures can be performed as day procedures.
